They lifted the mandate here in early April. We were leaving for Hawaii like a week or 2 later.
Just told the kids….”look I don’t know if they work or not. But we’ve been COVID free and we’re rounding third here. Wear ‘em until Hawaii and then you can do what you want.” -

Nevermind that cloth masks aren't effective, let's pretend that there's any science that supports that. They would cease to be effective when kids touch them, wear them improperly, and take them off for 10+ times a day for eating, drinking, etc.
And those are the kids that are compliant and old enough to fucking do this. -
The effectiveness debate is a fucking joke which is why no one wants to have it. It's safety theater meant for the smooth brained to feel safe.
Now let's talk costs; Increased childhood pneumonia, increased RSV, delayed speech development, delayed emotional and interpersonal development, childhood & teenage depression and suicide. And that's just the stuff off the top of my head that WE KNOW ABOUT RIGHT NOW. -
