That the “insurrectionists” killed a Capitol Hill police officer? This isn’t a dumb guy. He is someone I’ve known for 30 plus years. All the media he consumes tells him this is a fact. The divide in this country is getting past the point of no return.

    When cornered I simply say, I hate to see people die in political rallies. I don’t see how it helps anyone resolve issues and then I change the subject.

    If pressed I say it all seems complicated to me I guess we’re gonna see how things unfold and again, change the subject.

    but I would recommend they chow down on a rapidly approaching small projectile sent their way by an unknown person that the police can't go after because they don't have probable cause

    Generally agree, but I rarely in a social setting see anyone spouting of on a conservative point. I constantly hear jibes aimed at Trump and conservatives. Remember a doctor who had moved to the east coast to a five acre plot in West Linn with a McMansion complaining about the lack of diversity. West Linn high school was then apparently like the slums to him and their kids went to Oregon Episcopal School which was even whiter than West Linn. I do like talking politics with my conservative friends. Impossible to do so with a liberal acquaintance. It would be like hanging with the Slobberer and having to listen to the lies and ignorance.
