Happened after 2008 housing/economy crash as well. That one was driven by economic collapse. This one is driven by higher input costs.

Once it happens, the portion never goes back up, as well as the price never goes back to where it was.
Good thing that there is no inflation and if there is it's "only transitory" or I might be worried per the fed and gov't

I had a professor that used to be the CFO of a large food manufacturing company. He used to show us the candy bar they made over his three decades there, and that thing started out the size of a new iPhone and wound up the size of a mid 2000s cell phone. Many causes to shrinkflation blah blah, to him the semi-annual trip to Bentonville, Arkansas and Walmart’s insatiable need for lower prices were the most visible.
