Are you still here? Shouldn't you be lubing Damone's rickshaw like a good little knave and preparing to retreat with him out of this thread when his position totally collapses?
You form your opinion on what you believe based on your feeling, emotions, morality, maybe religion, and what you " think" would happen. It would be better to form an opinion based on research, facts, data, and weighing, on balance, what isn't necessarily good, but what choice is the least harmful overall.

I start with the premise and the truth that each adult is free to make all choices regarding how they will live their lives. From there I accept that each individual also has to live with the consequences of their choices. Good, bad, intended and unintended..

Regarding drugs, from there I can look at the big picture and see what's going to be a better solution than prohibition. There is a vast amount of data that show the cost of prohibition to be extremely high, and more costly than legalization or decriminalization. (Alcohol prohibition is an example) You say the reality is the government will tax drugs and by doing that be condoning and profiting from drug abuse. Maybe the ship has sailed where the government would wet it's beak in the sale of drugs, and if they did how would that be different than alcohol? And again, if they did, would it be less desirable to have the government tax the product, or have some of the most violent murderous people on earth profit.

Regarding prostitution. I would say you need more research on the topic to take emotion out of the argument. Dismissing it out of hand because Canada and Australia aren't examples of "what we should become" and thing you know we have degenerated and Russia has strengthened is a a nice red herring piggy backed onto a slippery slope. Two logical fallacies for the price of one. Prostitution is safe and legal in parts of the U.S. and many places in the world. We waste a lot of resources going after what people choose to do as consenting adults while we are continually told budgets are too tight and the government needs more of our money.

Oh I get it. I pointed out that Damone is making you look like the stupid asshole you are, so know I'm Damone's knave.

Except Damone and I aren't pals, associates, friends, or anything else..............it just boils down to you being a stupid asshole.

Go kill yourself, and do the world a favor. The only thing collapsing in this thread is any hint of credibility may have once had.

Your intrusion into the debate amounted to nothing more than patting your internet buddy on the back. You didn't contribute any worthwhile arguments on the subject, which reduces you (in this thread) to one of Damone's henchmen. Your devotion to your leader is admirable. But you really should just stay on the sidelines. Maybe slice oranges and pour Gatorade to help keep your pal in the game?

You clearly stated that heroin should be legalized (as opposed to decriminalized, which is what Portugal has done). Very different beasts. That was the premise I've been attacking. You've downshifted here into a less radical position in order to put yourself on firmer ground and avoid a punishing defeat. I'm calling you out on this. Very sly. Have you really shifted to decriminalization as your stance or is it just an argumentative ploy?

I knew eventually that when addressing the issue of taxation, you or someone else would try to justify it by saying that it's better for the government to profit than a bunch of violent thugs. Really? The violent thugs and cartels have limited power to operate. They have to stay in the shadows under constant threat of arrest or even getting killed in order to get their wares on the market. The government is all encompassing and faces no such risks. They will have a vested interest in the success of this racket, as well as getting us hooked. Do we really want a nation where our own government is profiting from heroin, crack and methamphetamine sales? That's right. We're bringing meth into this debate. Like SalemCoog said, how are we going to deal with all the new addicts that legalization would bring? You cannot compare heroin and methamphetamine to alcohol. They aren't even in the same realm.

On prostitution, how exactly is it safe? And if you legalize prostitution, the government will tax it too. Do you want the government to profit from your daughter selling her body to a bunch of faceless johns? Let that pimp profit, eventually he's going to jail anyway.

Why is there an OBK in every thread and why is he always pressing?

Yeah, bankrupt after nine years and the US annexed them.

About a 25% poverty rate if you count illegals

    But don't mess with them!!
You're right, don't mess with Texas.

You might disrupt the economic growth that is outpacing the nation.

I was attempting to do you a favor, you stupid son of a bitch. But hey, climb up on the rooftop and shout out what a stupid motherfucker you are - that way everyone will know, not just the people in your immediate vicinity.

Was this a private debate thread? No, it wasn't - once again you prove what a dumb fucking donkey you are. First you say knave, then you say henchmen - you know they aren't remotely similar, don't you?

Should we get you a bullhorn - or perhaps a Mr. Microphone - so you can let even more people know?

If we hand't let the americans living in Tejas talk the US government into going to war to steal it from Mexico, this wouldn't be our problem. It would just be an immigration issue internal to Mexico.

Oh... but some of you don't like history lessons.

I like to bitch about stealing territory from a nation who stole it from it's natives first.
