Probably my biggest personal point of departure from Tug Bros conservatism is being what I'm called around here as an establishment Republican. I certainly don't fit neatly into anybody's definition of a populist.
I'm torn on this police shit - I have a naturally skeptical view of the sharp end of the government spear, but I also think I understand what makes cops do what they do most of the time. I've read some interesting pieces suggesting one potential problem with the force these days is that its ranks include a good amount of ex-military who actually saw action, and that has I guess some predictable consequences. Don't know. But we need cops. I'm clearer on that than anything else. Saw the clip. The guy had to shoot. I can't believe we're even talking about it.
And Lebron is dumb. I'm pretty clear about that too. Athletes are entitled to express their views; but if they're stupid views then they should be called out. James was likely just carried through high school because of his ridiculous ability and it shows every time he opens his mouth. He's not alone btw. He's just one of the dozen or so who thinks we need his advice.
