This reminds me of a conversation I had with my parents. In the past my Dad would always point out how racist Trump was, using the commie news (all the stuff that has been proven wrong). When I pointed out to them how racist Joe Biden is, my Mom's response was, "oh well, that politics".

America was perfect but Trump made it a facist, racist hellhole.
It was perfect when we elected Obama and a sign that we'd overcome our racist past. But then we were told that opposing anything Obama did, and acting like an opposition party has always acted was "racist" and a sign that people only opposed Obama because he was black. Then when Trump won that was confirmation that the entire system was racist. Biden, who has been in government for 40 plus years was then elected to address the systemic racism that has always been with us and is part of every institution we have. But for when Obama was elected in 2008, that's when systemic racism took a short holiday.
