I'm not hating Jimmys portal pickups, dealing with 4* kids who haven't proven shit and alot flame out, the portal is where it's at. We still need to set the stage with quality 3 and 4* with an occasional homerun 5*

Thing is, the portal gets you guys that are trying to avoid the flameout label after they see it coming. It's going to be hit or miss unless Lake et al are really good at evaluating these players.

Yeah most of these dudes were starters (bookie, giles, polk, and pat). Be on the look out for at least one more transfer

Except we are getting guys that were starting?
Only Martin looks like a possible flameout.
Giles is a weird one. I'm not sure why he's transferring or why he wants to go to UW. I'm just glad.
The receiver may have just wanted to get the fuck out of arm pit Texas. He definitely looked to be on a good trajectory there.
Yeah maybe I'm off. There are players out there who are doing well but still want out. Seems like they'd be fairly rare though and there would be stiff competition for them most of the time. If Lake can get impact players from the portal consistently I'll call it genius. My expectation has been that we'd be getting guys like Martin, who still have potential but haven't performed.

In years past, transferring normally meant the player flamed out and likely sucked. Not the case anymore. Starters are transferring.
Puka might not have done a ton at UW, but that’s a quality WR with a very high ceiling. Bookie has some critics, but he started for 3 years for a perennial playoff contender/participant. The guy from West Virginia looks like a sure fire stud.
Since they don’t have to sit out a year anymore, if something goes wrong, the player will often bolt. It’s a new era. I actually like it. It could have really helped us a few years ago when we were always a couple players short.

Giles was probably freezing his ass off and he was playing for a goofball that hasn’t had a good offense in years. We haven’t either, but still.

Am I doing the recruiting bored right guys?
And we're probably going to beat their asses in their own stadium with him.
Second sentence: Hand moves back to plate of nachos.
Coin flip at best. I'll believe the offense can score enough on a defense with a pulse when I see it.
