Probably came down to money. No guarantee of additional pay and a guarantee of monthly union dues. Any strike would not result in Amazon caving on one center and just encouraging other union efforts with a success story. So, go on strike and no pay. Why would you vote for the union based on that premise. My last year in the International Brotherhood of Chemical workers they voted for strike in late August of 1978. Union dudes were laughing and saying it would be nice to have a few weeks off in the summer and then settle for a nice raise. They were out until March of 1979 and settled for an additional five cents an hour. Not a great Christmas for those idiots.

I'm involved in forming a union and my dad was 20 years ago in Suckattle. You're going to get resistance from any private company and it can get dirty. With pub(l)ic entitities and government, less so, but it's still there. Also, vast majority of Dimocrats are corrupt as fuck and don't lift a finger unless you suck them off and give them a lot of favors. Fuck Raul Grijalva!

So you're saying the mostly minority workers in Alabama are too stupid to know what's best for them. Figures.TheKobeStopper said:You can lead a horse to water.

I used to be a regular on the team that was trying to negotiate with employees to NOT unionize. We were fortunate because we treated everyone from the plant floor on up the same way. We also had great Christmas parties, 401K contributions, great healthcare package paid for 100% by the company, etc. Every year a few idiots brought up the union and we would explain how all the goodies went away and had to be earned if they voted to unionize and poof, the threat was gone. If you are a shitty company that treats employees poorly, you deserve a union.

I worked at Amazon and there was a Union push in the early days. The fact is that people would rather have the Amazon benefits, stock, etc. Although it's not told in the media, the Amazon employees have a lot of say and influence on how work can be done and I don't think they want to lose that power with having a union as the middle man.

Looks like Amazon handled it fine
