Depends on where you go and what you do there.Pitchfork51 said:

That said, there is a school of thought that a college education is part of the long game, and it was never really supposed to function like a trade school. Said another way, a college experience has its own value for many that is not tied directly to employment outcomes.
But nobody should be 6 figures in debt for a bachelors degree. There are cheaper options.
It made sense when most people didn't go. But now for 15 dollar an hour office positions you need one so it's just a "get the paper and get the fuck out" scheme.
If you go to Cuog and major in “look at me and how much fun we’re having. Yay!! College!” Then yeah that’s a check the box exercise. If you go and try and get an actual education, it still had value in my estimation. -
Yes I agree. But there are ways round that ... start off with JC and get as many credits packed in as you can on the cheap.Pitchfork51 said:
Sure but if you can't afford it or don't get scholarships it's not worth taking out like 50k + in debt.PurpleThrobber said:

Yeah that's what I mean. By doing that you miss out on the getting naked with sorority girls part in the beginning, but that isn't worth big debt so cc is a good plan.creepycoug said:

I personally would never work for Google, but they have changed policies around needing a degree to be hired. That's pretty cool I guess.

I really have no desire to work in a large corporation.jecornel said:I personally would never work for Google, but they have changed policies around needing a degree to be hired. That's pretty cool I guess.
Even as my company gets bigger there are random corporate annoyances that I don't like.
And we're not big at all. It's like 35 mil this year in revenue. But already I can see some bullshit
