Do people typically include their home's value in their net worth? I guess it's net worth not investment account value. I always leave out my house because I'm always going to have to live somewhere. The way I think about it is that it's permanently tied-up capital. It'll be liquidated when my wife and I are dead.

I think it should only include the equity.

I basically ignore it because I know some % of that equity will be tied up my whole life. I guess if I'm figuring my net worth for what the kids will get, it makes sense.
