Whatever. Ill take Cade over Puka. Had all the talent in the world - and all the inconsistency too.
Maybe Jimmy sucks. Maybe he doesn't. We will know a lot by the 2nd game of the season.
Lifpo.
Everyone saying Jimbo is in over his head - it will be hilarious to see the backpedaling if this team wins 10 games. -
The talent is one thing. It just sends a very strange message. The one thing Husky fans have pride themselves on, is that their program gets very little transfer outs or decommitments. That can no longer be said.PostGameOrangeSlices said:Whatever. Ill take Cade over Puka. Had all the talent in the world - and all the inconsistency too.

LIFPO only works if he wins. This far he has not been winning in recruiting or coach hirings or player management.
Winning will help recruiting and will make us? Hate the coaches less.

It won't be all that funny. Most adults don't have trouble admitting they were wrong, especially when they wanted to be.PostGameOrangeSlices said:Whatever. Ill take Cade over Puka. Had all the talent in the world - and all the inconsistency too.

A world could exist where we win a lot of games next year while still running the program into to ground. I’d prefer we win a lot of games next year AND set ourselves up to win a lot of games in the future. The latter is highly questionable right now. -
As much as I love the meltdowns, I think most UW fans are way overrating him based on his HS potential. Every UW game I watched he was mediocre. Plus he acted like a total beta wuss most of the time.PostGameOrangeSlices said:Whatever. Ill take Cade over Puka. Had all the talent in the world - and all the inconsistency too.

We’ll be favored in 10+ games. With the talent on the roster winning 10 games shouldn’t be seen as some massive accomplishment, especially since we miss Utah and USC in a weak Pac-12. Our toughest conference game on the road is at Stanford and then... at OSU/Arizona/Colorado. A very middling coach could do well with that set up. My concern is 2022 and beyond if Jimmy doesn’t right the ship soon.PostGameOrangeSlices said:Whatever. Ill take Cade over Puka. Had all the talent in the world - and all the inconsistency too.

Everything has been pointing down since Jimmy has taken over from recruiting, coaching departures, hires, transfers, etc. Could he be a great coach? Sure, but it is hard to find many positives from his short tenure so far. -
Lake gotta go if it’s not good. I still have hope because Morris should be better and if Huard starts, it’s because he’s an upgrade. So QB should be better. OL is good. WR still has some guys. Otton is an All American Candidate TE. RB is meh, but you never know.Sources said:

Spiker and Osbourne can’t cut it. Completely agree on that. Puka was an All Conference talent and a big loss.DawgDaze71 said:Kids leaving doesn't mean the HC doesn't know what's going on. It really means he knows what's going on and isn't standing for that shit.
If Jimmy Lake will run Coach K off...you don't stand a chance as a player.
And save it on Spiker and Osborne. You ain't shit until you do something on the field.
I find myself not caring. Hard to get worked up. I’m ready for the season and for it to hopefully go well.
ZTF, Ulo along with a bunch of 4 star recruits in the front 7 that were hyped up by the board. McDuffie.
It’s also the PAC 12. Who in the conference is actually good? It’s not a foregone conclusion we suck. We should be good, even if Jimmy is in over his head. -

Wasn’t his mom all cracked out or something during his commitment on tv? Yes, let’s go closer to that and let it take a toll and have peaked in HS.
This is easy cause I’m twice his age and only partially retarded instead of fully retarded like teenagers. -
It sucks but his family has actually been through some shit. Respect to Puka for being Nebraska classy on the way out of town.

I'm on record as saying that the schedule is so soft that there's no excuse not to win ten games.PostGameOrangeSlices said:Whatever. Ill take Cade over Puka. Had all the talent in the world - and all the inconsistency too.

And I'm not saying this just to be negative, but never forget the lessons of Larry Coker. -

He wrote the proper send-off, but it's not fully authentic. Something drove him from here.FremontTroll said:

I am all for gathering information on which we can speculate about the real story...but removing uw from your banner and profile before you...end up leaving UW isn’t the information upon which to base said speculation.
And you didn’t even bother to take five minutes to go on Twitter to check it out. -
Yeah I have no idea if he’s genuine or not but dude went out of his way to kiss our ass on the way out the door. Hard to hate on him.FremontTroll said:It sucks but his family has actually been through some shit. Respect to Puka for being Nebraska classy on the way out of town.

If he's going to go anywhere I'm glad it's BYU. They fucking sucked even with a top 2 NFL draft pick at QB, and they'll be further irrelevant with him gone.
But Christ, this is just one disaster after another. There's plenty of rumblings going around that Puka was like an odd right-wing Dante Pettis with some strange interests, and a combination of that and his political beliefs led to him being somewhat alienated in the locker room. He was also allegedly patient zero for covid - so I'm sure that didn't make him many friends when the season got cancelled. Shitty if true, but probably not something Lake himself could do much to influence. ATBSJLSS.
