We always had a nice boat
    Hated it.

    I like the jetskis better

Had two. Gave them up when the kids got to drinking age. Easier to keep them from killings themselves. Or getting run over by those fucking Californians.
But I'm sure the kids loved them. Hitting 70 on a glass lake is amazing.

Then again you're right. Once I hit drinking age I drove it up on to the beach accidentally twice

    I hate when you're right

Pardon me, fine Club members. I assure you it is a proposal. Been busy today so I’m going back to try and find it. Bottom line on the boat tax seemed to be a one time 10% surcharge upon sale or title transfer on boats 50k and up.

As you can see in the op, that 18’ aluminum is $51k. So it doesn’t take much to trigger the “luxury” label

I’ll track down the link in time but that’s the gist

So literally every Cobalt R series is going to have a minimum $10,000 added to the price tag? Are you fucking kidding me?

Fuck this state. I'm moving to Idaho with @PurpleThrobber .
Let's wait and see if this is real of if it's from somebody's uncle's Facebook feed.

Seattle Boat Company thanks you for your caution.

The "luxury item" tax idea is just dumb. Taxes should be created in a way that makes them hard to avoid paying, and these luxury item taxes are easy to avoid. Unless collecting revenue isn't the objective and doing stupid shit is.

How are State of Washington Boat taxes easy to avoid?

I think you’re making that up.

Meaning, don't buy a boat. As opposed to a gas tax.
