This movie has survived into the internet era based on a legendary car chase that I am sure even kids have googled at some point. I was a kid myself in 1968. I long ago put 60's movies into the lock box after having seen them billions of times. I find myself unlocking the box these days

Watched Bullit in its entirety last night in full HD. It is more than a car chase although it is epic and ends with the bad guys literally dying in a fire, HH wheelhouse

It is also a time capsule of the 60's and how life was because this was a Hollywood special showing the latest and greatest in American life in San Francisco without the hippies. Which means it is about third world level compared to today. The high tech was a phone photo fax machine that the guys stood around in wonder. Big healthcare doctor worship too with the head surgeon a Black man. We? were attempting to integrate entertainment even in those ancient racist times.

Jaqueline Bisset wandering around the apartment half naked. Steve McQueen being the strong silent detective. He was playing the same Zodiac detective that Dirty Harry was modeled after.

Ultimately it is a formulaic mob thriller with the evil rich white Senator pulling the strings. The ending is at the airport running between 727s because jet travel was still new and cool and the 747 wasn't even born quite yet.

The car chase is the middle of the movie and has no reason other than its a car chase. Hollywood could have retired car chases after this one.

Anyway kids from 8 to 80 can enjoy this look back to a simpler time where you had to use a pay phone.

She wanted to be part of Steve's life dammit. Then she saw a murder scene and told him she didn't think she could be with him since he saw that shit all the time. Women - am I right?
