A joint report released Wednesday by the U.S.-based Global Energy Monitor (GEM) and Helsinki-based Center for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA) found China built over three times as much coal-fired electrical power capacity in 2020 as the rest of the world combined.

I’m open to discussing green policies if the whole world subscribes.

China doing nothing makes it one big economic war

This. We’re just getting fucked if they don’t comply.

We're only fucked because we have an out of control left wing federal government. Just a few weeks ago we were energy independent, a net exporter of fossil fuels, the most sane form of energy currently available, and via exploration and technology, adding to known reserves of oil, gas and coal while simultaneously lowering emissions of the CO2 boogie man. I don't blame China for doing what's in their best interest. We're the idiots for shooting ourselves in the foot on this issue.
It starts with our so-called public education system. They don't teach science, they just indoctrinate. I've told this story before, but a couple of years ago a friend of my son had joined us for a Sunday barbeque. The "kid" is 30 years old and very "smart" if you don't factor in that he knows absolutely nothing about science, math and economics. He can read and write but really can't think. For some reason he started in on global warming and what "we" need to do about it. I asked him what percentage of CO2 emissions came from the US. He looked stunned as he had no clue about what to him was a core belief and ventured 50%. He knew that America was the problem. I told him that the answer was 15% and the chicoms produced double that. And that the US CO2 production was declining while the chicoms and the Euros were increasing. Then I told him that he needed to grow up and use his "intelligence" and that if something was important to him he should learn the hard truths about it. That intellectual curiosity was a good thing and that most of what he knew was wrong. I know, harsh. But I didn't start it.

    Anyway, this is why. https://www.city-journal.org/k-12-science-curriculum-environment

    China is awful.

It’s our responsibility to lead the world on this.

Do I think Biden is the guy to pull China in? No, but I voted for the guy that would have.

Things losers say as Xi Belichick does all he can to win the game for China.

We? have Jim Tomsula running the squad, on the other end of the spectrum.

We already were leading the world. Our CO2 emission rates have been declining while most of the rest of the world is still increasing or staying flat.

Exactly. If we wanted to really lead we would have been building nukes for the last decade and exporting massive amounts of LNG to Asia. Leading and making bank and giving millions of Americans true family wage jobs. Plus even less CO2 emissions.

The US already leads the world on clean coal production, natural gas and green technology.

You voted for Trump? Good to know.

There's a video somewhere on here of some local government babe touting the electric car fleet.

When asked where the power to charge comes from she said the local power company

When asked where they get the power from the answer was coal. Clean coal matters even for your unicorn dreams
Wait, do you mean tomorrow we can’t have complete renewable energy everywhere! This is stunning to me, I am stunned.

“Clean” coal and “natural” gas is a marketing gimmick. I bet you idiots think the “all natural” label at the supermarket means something too.

No I watched Penn and Teller debunk organic food

What I said was you need coal and NG and oil for your unicorn dreams so the US having clean or cleaner if you insist coal is a good thing

You probably think the shit you put in your recycle bin gets recycled.

Is this a fancy hypocrisy argument? You say coal is bad but you want to use it to move to renewables?

It's "natural" in the sense that it does have to be refined. Surely someone with your superior education knew that already. And yes, NG does have much lower emissions than oil or coal. So why is it a bad thing to encourage it's use?

I tried telling my wife about this and she didn't want to believe me. All we're doing is paying the garbage hauler more money so that they can dump it in the same landfill with the regular garbage.

Are you having trouble following along here?

You said coal is bad. I pointed out you need it for your unicorn. All of them along with NG and oil. I don't care if it takes 20 years or 200 years for the unicorn to appear. We need carbon and to say differently might make you the "idiot"

Modern American coal plants are clean. They have scrubbers and dust mitigation measures. They do produce about twice the CO2 as a gas fired electrical plant, hence the leftards call it dirty. They are dirty if you look at a chicom coal plant as the commies aren't concerned with clean air scrubbers. There hasn't been a new American coal plant built in years. They are gradually being replaced with cheaper natural gas, that being the largest reason for declining US CO2 emissions. Now a moron who wanted to stop the spreading use of natural gas to produce electricity would ban fracking a permits to drill on federal land and drive up the price. It's almost like Biden is a Russian puppet.

Something can be bad and necessary at the same time. Like voting for Biden, bad but necessary.
