I've seen My Left Foot and Room With a View a very long time ago. Gangs, Mohicans, and Name of the Father are the only ones I remember really well.

In all seriousness though, it should probably be Lincoln or In the Name of the Father.

    But fuck that!

    Again, raaaawwwwrrrrrrr!

Haven't seen any on the list. Anyone here a yuge DDL fan who wants to buy my vote to swing the poll to their preferred title?

How the fuck? It's hard to own a TV and not stumble into Gangs of New York or Last of the Mohicans.

As a California native I can’t vote against a California oil movie.

I was hoping that'd get more votes, thank you. What a magnificently gripping performance.

Bro. Mohicans and GONY stat, in whatever order depending on your taste preference. The latter is one of the better villains of this century IMO, and a genius performance. Mohicans is more historical epic and his role isn't as meaty but the movie is probably better.

Shame that @UW_Doog_Bot died in a cigar cutter manufacturing accident. He would have been with me on this one.

Correct. The last statement is debatable but not the rest. Bill the Butcher is one of the best characters in the history of characters. He's completely unique and somehow, through a miracle of acting, believable.

My favorite is Last of the Mohicans for historical purposes but Daniel Plainview was epic

Great (and also overrated) actor, but I have no desire to watch any of those movies again. Movies are entertainment. Fuck outta here about pretentious shit like the craft of being an actor.

Exactly. Do you know how brilliant an actor you have to be to make a character as insane as Bill the Butcher seem totally real? This isn't just the best DDL role ever, it may be the best acted character I've ever seen. Period.

Couldn't agree more and that's the only reason I can never turn that movie off when I come across it. The rest of the cast doesn't do much for me. DiCaprio is fine, even good. The rest are replaceable as far as I'm concerned.
