My cousin was track coach at U of Montana until he quit this summer (his wife was let go as head women’s basketball coach in April so he eventually quit too) and they had a male X-country walk-on who wasn’t good a few years ago. My cousin oversaw cross country but they had separate coaches, training, scholarships, so he wasn’t really involved in it.

Well, the kid decides to transition to a woman and is allowed to run against women in 2019. In shocking news, he starts dominating the women, even wins Big Sky Conference Women’s Athlete of the Week, and eventually gets a full Title IX scholarship as a female athlete got cut. He took her spot and her scholarship. Progress! I visited my cousin and wife for a few days this summer before he resigned and he just shook his head at the absurdity of it all when talking about it.

SHANGHAI, June 25 (Reuters) - China has nearly 250 gigawatts (GW) of coal-fired power now under development, more than the entire coal power capacity of the United States, a new study said on Thursday, casting doubt on the country’s commitments to cutting fossil fuel use.

Beijing has vowed to replace coal with cleaner energy forms, but new coal project approvals have accelerated this year, according to the study by Global Energy Monitor (GEM) and the Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA).

“While much of the world is moving away from coal, China continues to make it a central part of its energy mix,” said Christine Shearer, coal programme director at GEM.
