Wanting someone to fail shows fear of them. Fear is a type of respect.
In Russian we have a word for it, grozny. There’s no one word translation: it means something like inspiring terror, but not necessarily in a bad way. Like the chicks face in a porno when she’s told that 2 liter is going in through the back. The translators of the 16th century dubbed him Ivan the Terrible, but we call him Ivan Grozny.
The etymology of the word comes from groza which is thunder, made by the mightiest god in the pantheon - Perun, see image below. As a child I was told unless I behaved that would either eat me or enslave me with other children to make him more axes, which I assumed was for the slaying of other children. As you can tell by the picture Perun was the nicest of the children’s fairytales available to Soviet children, the other ones were quite bleak and scary.
Anyway, I think either USC is showing respect or they’ve reached the point in the decline of the blue blood where the suffering of others is what sustains them. We can only hope that Mike Bonn’s great head coaching hire at Cincy was an aberration and he’s still a shifty AD that keeps Helton as long as possible.

We lost to COVID, they lost to Oregon. Last I checked COVID beat a shit ton more teams than Oregon did this season. Congratulations on another year of Helton, Troy.
I mean....oregon won the conference. So you weren't first place in anything.
It is quite humorous, for the half-dozen or so posters here who actually take seriously the "first in the north because ... rules" and then, rightfully l might add, express skepticism of the P12 title as a technicality.
Washington's last game of the season against Furd really should have ended all the shit talk without having to get to skipping Cal and Oregon, both teams with which the DWAGs have struggled of late.
At some point, arguing about this abortion of a season should get boring.

A week ago we? were bantering about the 89' Freedom Bowl.
When USC starts celebrating a down year for a conference opponent, USC is officially dead. I miss the years USC was so good they didn’t give a shit about anybody else.

0) kept Helton after a 4 win season.
1) Oregon prison fucked them at home and they just kind of accepted it.
2) Iowa made them look like a WAC team and they just kind of accepted it.
3) Related to 1, they came out in the champ game with: Pick in their own end, Pick in their own end, Run straight into a wall where OSU and Cal were cruising. Ballgame. Mentally fear Oregon far, far worse than UW.
Whatever their administrative problems are, they are done. By the time they get rid of Helton recruits will think of them as UCLA in Mcdonald's uniforms.

How can you win a division if another team in your division wins overall? It doesn't compute
Division winners are declared before a conference championship game even takes place.
If Feld doesn't like it, then he should have roided up his players better so that Beavlet and winless Cal couldn't shove it up their asses at the end of those games.

Needed a prayer to beat one of the worst teams in the country in Arizona...
And should have lost to ASU week 1?
Oh... and Clay Helton is still their coach.
Mighty are the morons of Troy.

Sounds awful familiar
@creepycoug
Ok!
As long as the respect is there, who cares?
