I had the opposite thing happen. Huge blowout party for my 40th a couple of weeks before total lockdown. One of my happiest memories, and then the year spiraled into a total shitshow that just kept getting worse and worse since. At least I still have a job.
My beard has her huge 40th on New Year's Eve. It'll just be us at home doing nothing. Feel kind of bad about the juxtaposition... -

I’m annoyed all my wife’s planning and hard work on my party isn’t gonna pay off for her but I took a long walk around the house to get some perspective and if my party for my 40th is the worst thing I lose in this pandemic when others are losing jobs and loved ones I’m pretty damn #blessed.
