410 A.D. -- Hang out with Race Bannon and the Visigoths during the Sack of RomeIn all seriousness, it *really* would’ve been fun to have been at UW as a student during the peak Don James years...and not just because of football, but also to experience Seattle right before it reached its peak.
The Swinging Sixties in London would’ve been fun.
I’m told by my elders that @creepycoug’s Cuba pre-Castro was amazing.
Agree with you DJ on 1920s Paris.
Not sure what decade, but seeing old school Morocco, Egypt, Turkey, or Iran would be incredible.
Check out China, Tibet, or Vietnam before the communists rolled in.

1920s Seattle and Husky Stadium grand opening
Some of my absolute earliest memories are watching VHS tapes of the 1991 national championship in the mid 90s. You can imagine how profoundly warped and damaged my psyche is now loldflea said:June, 1985

Seattle in the 80’s/early 90's was pretty damned tight. You don't know what you've got until it's gone.Doog_de_Jour said:In all seriousness, it *really* would’ve been fun to have been at UW as a student during the peak Don James years...and not just because of football, but also to experience Seattle right before it reached its peak.

Janet Reno (write in)1960 in Hawaii, right before the outset of the tourism boom. Still authentic, beaches with plenty of open sand for long walks and perspective.

@YellowSnow I went to the whisky ago go in 1967.... you might like the article in vanity fair about the scene then in LA... it’s a fun read about the scene then...dirt@RaceBannon . The LA music scene of the 60's- e.g., Beach Boys, Byrds, Love, Doors, Mamas and Papa, Buffalo Springfield, Neil Young, CSN, etc is second only the 1960's London.
The various Laurel Canyon docs out there are terrific. -

But no Don Ho yet so that would suck. -

Well, some of us were there for the Don James era, so I'm not wasting a chip on that one. Been there; done that.
Yeah, 1920s to 1940s era Havana would have been fun.
I personally would choose to live out my college days in the 60s. I was born in the 60s so I didn't enjoy it. The sense of style ... of everything ... clothes, cars, music etc. Would have been fantastic to be chasing ass at a time when the girls were loosening up after saving it during the 1950s. Would have been entertaining to experience the old folks freaking the fuck out and convinced the world was going to hell in a hand basket. To see Hendrix, Zeppelin and all that great music show up and evolve. Go to Woodstock, get really fucked up and naked and fuck like a rabbit for three days or whatever.
The 60s would have been fun in one's late teens and early 20s. SF probably the place to be.

for some of us? older folks the 60's is just a big blur (and some of the 70's) - maybe it would be fun to relive it straight just to see what it was like as an observer. Or do the Back to the Future thingie and watch what I did from a distance.creepycoug said:Well, some of us were there for the Don James era, so I'm not wasting a chip on that one. And you may find yourself in a beautiful house
With a beautiful wife
And you may ask yourself, well
How did I get here?
