Sounds to me like “we wouldn’t be able to air this game on TV and we’d lose out on precious Shanghai viewership when Pac12 network airs AZ @ WA in 2 weeks”
-
Then as Coker says on Twitter, you play that game again.NEsnake12 said:Sounds to me like “we wouldn’t be able to air this game on TV and we’d lose out on precious Shanghai viewership when Pac12 network airs AZ @ WA in 2 weeks”
Who cares if they play twice in a season. At least they're playing.
And you're certainly not keeping that viewership by not playing at all. -

You need officials, TV equipment, a TV crew, etc. It's not insurmountable, but it's not nothin'. I wouldn't be surprised if you also need local health official approval and approval from on high at both universities. I know that where I work you can't change out an inconsequential piece of carbon steel pipe the size of my finger with a stainless piece without 30 people in nine different Skype meetings over a two-week period.chuck said:
The logistics of playing a game in an empty stadium dont seem all that challenging with a couole of days' notice. What do I know thoufh?GrundleStiltzkin said:
Scheduling, organizing travel and logistics for, approving something like a college football game with a day's notice? For teams located 1200 miles apart as the crow flies? Yeah, I believe them that it's a bit of a tall order.
Dude.
No one is disputing that it will be more difficult than usual to pull this off. You're right, it's a bit of a tall order. I was about to rant about leadership at you but you're a decent guy so I'll just gocommit seppukuoutside instead. Later guys. -
I didn't say it wasn't a tall order, I know there's a lot of shit that has to happen and I have a government job so I know about beurocracy. They had more than one day to make it happen though. The 1200 mile distance is meaningless since we recently invented air travel and transport. Refs, sideline people, security, all of this other shit can be brought together if there's a smidgen of determination.1to392831weretaken said:

Oh no! 1200 miles? Goodness how will they all get there? Lol.1to392831weretaken said:

Its a talk order, sure. It's nothing exceptional on the scale of college football and the logistics that go into every other fall Saturday every other year. No provisions for tens of thousands of humans eases a big chunk of the burden.
A tall order? Yeah duh. Insurmountable if you value playing football games? Hardly. -
Disagree. Disney and Fox know exactly where to put all of their gear. Some of the cabling could be run in advance and you could go with less cameras. The flights are chartered anyway and Hotels would be climbing over each other to provide accommodations for 100 people given how hard their industry has been hit.1to392831weretaken said:

But given the local protocols in the West that we are now seeing, that somehow the Pac 12 didn’t know about, there will be greater odds that games get canceled than played.
If these cities/counties are not going to make exceptions, then pull the plug. -
The only thing they explored was the inside of their asses with their heads.GrundleStiltzkin said:
This game could have been played. Maybe not the way they wanted it, but welcome to current events, dipshits. It's a pandemic out there and you have to learn to adapt and roll with the punches, not just go hide in the basement. Fuckin' losers. -

Is there a way to join the Big 10? Round up a few more teams and we could make it an even Big 20
