Do you think he'd be conservatively proven a great coach before given a HC offer somewhere else? in this overreaching coaching market I dont know if we'll get a chance to really see what he's made of. At this point I'd rather bet on Wilcox than Sark though, but I have a feeling Wilcox will be gone before Sark.

Gracias. Permission granted. Race photoshopped that when he was 5.HillsboroDuck said:

They should have both been sent door.ass.out. at midfield at the end of the 2012 Apple Cup.brchco12 said:Do you think he'd be conservatively proven a great coach before given a HC offer somewhere else? in this overreaching coaching market I dont know if we'll get a chance to really see what he's made of. Wilcox is a proven coordinator with success at multiple stops. The UW D struggled against good QB's and can't stop spread offenses but that will happen in due time when the DL has more than 1-2 pac-12 starters out of 4. The defensive staff is quite strong and can recruit. Tosh stole Vatuvei from USC at the last minute in 2012 and last year pulled in a strong class at DL. They already have a commit from a guy Biggins said would be top 50 next year.
Its sacrilege to say but Wilcox is a better college DC than Mora or whoever is at UCLA. True its only one year but UW was ahead of UCLA in all but two defensive stats...sacks and 3rd downs. Mora's D gave up 27+ points in 9 games last year versus 5 for UW. And keep in mind UCLA's offense was near the top of the conference while UW's was near the bottom. With a good offense, UW's D would have fared better. And UCLA didn't play Oregon.
This D staff can build a championship defense because Wilcox is very good and Tosh and Sirmon can recruit. And Sirmon and Heyward did quite well at their positions in year one.
I don't need to wait another a year to see what is already obvious....but go ahead flame away and ignore how much worse UCLA's D was than UW's last year. -
Stupid question:
When has Wilcox built a championship defense? Boise doesn't count. -
I agree that UW's defensive staff is above average. Hayward looks like a beast and Sirmon engineered an incredible makeover in the LB corps. Tosh can recruit, that much we know. I'm less convinced he can coach, though.
One year is a bit soon to reach any definitive conclusions about Mora's defensive staff, but we know his secondary is probably going to suck. It's pretty likely UW has a better defensive staff than UCLA.
It's highly likely UCLA has a better HC than UW. -
Wilcox's defenses since he left Boise:
2010, 10th in the SEC in total defense, 9th in scoring defense
2011, 7th in the SEC in total defense, 9th in scoring defense
2012, 4th in the Pac-12 in total defense, 4th in scoring defense
Dude was lucky to get out of Tennessee when he did and luckier still to go to a place where being in the middle is good enough. -
Stop sucking Wilcox cox and let it play out. Same rule applies to Wilcox as Sark. Prove it on the field. Ass rapes and 4th quarter collapses mean Wilcox has more to prove. Tosh and Sirmon are great recruiters, everyone says so..HeretoBeatmyChest said:Wilcox is a proven coordinator with success at multiple stops.
