He’s got a point, you know.
Make SCOTUS 11 members after Trump wins and the GOP keeps the Senate and wins the House.
-
Fuck Harry Reid for taking us down this road of using the Supreme court as a political campaign battleground.NorthwestFresh said:He’s got a point, you know.

I have to go back to the shameful way Ted Kennedy treated Robert Bork, which because the new norm for Democrats slandering qualified SCOTUS candidates for ideological reasons. Look at the vote counts for the Rat members compared to the GOP members. After the Kavanaugh shitshow with that crazy woman with the baby voice telling fantastic lies, everything is fair game.thechatch said:

It would be the ultimate troll if he could just do it, but my understanding is he needs a new law to replace the one that limits it to 9 (not an amendment). Won’t happen with a Dem majority in the House.NorthwestFresh said:He’s got a point, you know.

Now, a Dem majority in the House, Senate and White House? Holy cow... -
GoP absolutely CANNOT lose the senate.

The GOP is gonna seat the justice no matter what and I don't see how it doesn't lose them the election spectacularly. Biden is just gonna keep talking about the Obamacare case until November and how Trump is gonna take away healthcare during a pandemic, elect me to save the healthcare law I literally helped pass.
Court packing won't happen, Biden/Harris are going to have to grow some balls and actively go against the court on certain things. The precedent Trump has set is if the senate isn't going to convict you then you can really do whatever you want. -
Except the impeachment was politics and there was no crime

Wow, there are politics involved in a congressional process, who fucking knew.Goduckies said:Except the impeachment was politics and there was no crime

Not confirming Merrick Garland sure cost the GOP greatly in 2016.incremetal_progress said:The GOP is gonna seat the justice no matter what and I don't see how it doesn't lose them the election spectacularly. As usual, you Leftists are overplaying your hand by talking about impeaching Barr and Trump and packing SCOTUS with extra judges. Ginsburg should have retired in 2013 with Obama as President and Dem control of the Senate. She gambled on Hillary winning
In 2016 and we’ve had 4 years of her falling asleep and being in and out of the hospital because she lost the bet. -
This. I’d trade Trump’s second term for a conservative Supreme Court for the next 20 years. Not even a second thought. I thought the most important reason for Trump getting a 2nd term was to win the right to replace RBG.Swaye said:Is Mitch McConnel a hypocrite? Um, fuck yes. They are almost all trash ass people. Never trust any of them. That said, winners win. I think the GOP shoving through a conservative probably hurts Trump's reelection chances, as it will energize the Dems base in a BIGLY way, but, a 6-3 majority (let's face it it's really 5-4 because Roberts is a turd) might be worth 4 years of Corn Pop shitting himself in the White House. 5.5-3.5 SCOTUS for a generation is probably a bigger deal then anything that happens the next 4 years.
Also, the crying from the left (and partially justified tbh) will be EPIC! This is must see TV. I mean fuck me, this election just got Thunderdome level exciting.
Do it Mitch. Do it.
p.s. If Susan Collins fucks us here, she will rot in fiery RINO hell with McCain and that Mormon loser...
edit: @CFetters_Nacho_Lover just sent me a twat where Murkowski has already bitched out, and Collins and Grassly are wavering. So, it appears nothing has changed with the GOP. Same cuck losers they have always been. -
The circumstances could not be less similar to 2016. But I get it, 2016, 2016, 2016.NorthwestFresh said:

Right. Trump is not an outgoing POTUS, and he holds the Senate.incremetal_progress said:

Right holding the senate is the only difference. Under those circumstances yes it helped Trump because because Evangelical Christians were otherwise a weakness for him.thechatch said:doogie said:Or?

Under 2020 circumstances where evangelicals and conservatives are already rabidly for him and it's still not enough to win, this does not help him.
Good luck winning an election while jamming through a justice who will completely throw out the ACA in just months, completely upending healthcare for millions during a pandemic that he is doing nothing about. Seriously, good luck with that. -
If Trump loses but the Republicans win the senate 51 49 everything is still ok
Collins and gardener are gunners and probably McCauley as well, but Alabama will be a pick up imo -
You sound hysterical and nervous. Extremely nervous.incremetal_progress said:
