WA positive covid testing rate has dropped from 6% a month ago to 5.2%. States goal is 2%.
-
Where did you get the 5.2%? I used to get that number from the Times but when the cases and deaths began to fall they stopped posting confirmed cases, hence they stopped posting the positive rate%. It topped at like 6.1% and then*poof* gone just when the number should have started to fall. It's like they don't want good news to spread or something. Also, a 2% goal is fucking ridiculous. The state has never been close to that number and likely won't be until the virus goes away on its own or until the state is instructed to stop giving a fuck.huskyhooligan said:WA positive covid testing rate has dropped from 6% a month ago to 5.2%. Has anyone asked why % positive of tests over a week is a "goal" when testing isn't randomized or normalized across the population?YouKnowIt said:

Do people really not understand that % positive is a reflection of testing strategy and targeting, not of viral prevalence? -
Yep, if you look at the daily numbers, hovering around 4% over the last couple of weeks.YouKnowIt said:

I just did the simple math.
72161/1391309 = 5.2%
