I was working on the broadcast for komo in Seattle, and we were talking to Rondeau and Nelson during the breaks and we thought Curtis had died on the field. It was something that was being communicated that is was a possibility. Everyone was shaken, and really couldn't grasp what was happening. Some players were hysterical and we were getting all this through the feed. Rondeau called those plays with perfection. I put together a highlight reel for Fox Sports Northwest at the and put Rondeau's voice to the highlights. If you were a husky fan it brought chills. That pass in the corner to Justin Robbins was perfectly placed by Tui, and he just went to the ground and pointed to the sky. I believe the 2nd pass went to Elstrom and was almost picked off if I remember right.
To me it was one of the most impressive drives I have ever seen under the circumstances, the rain was so heavy most fans left the game. The people I knew down there left in the third quarter. It was absolutely miserable conditions.
That next week, of practice guys were shell shocked and slick rick was tremendous that week. I went to UW the same time as Curtis and I remember seeing him walking on campus. He was a solid guy and seeing him at the Rose Bowl in a wheel chair was just surreal. Williams came out Bullard in Fresno CA, and he didn't have the smoothest ride. To see his smile on his face and watching his first interview for television after his injury will be something I will never forget. I can still see it clearly in my mind 12 years later. It's partly why I am so sensitive to having the number taken off the field.
That wasn't the 200/300 game. Also, most fans didn't leave.

It will be broken this or next year by Mariota I'd guess. He's Tui with speed and accuracy, and in the perfect offense to do it. Fuck I hate Oregon.

Mariota threw for 300 yards three times in 13 games this year. He ran for 100 yards just once (135). In the one game he broke 100 on the ground he threw for .... 46 yards.
I agree that Mariota is as likely to do it as anyone, but unless Helfricht is all about running up the score in ways Chip wasn't interested in, Mariota's still highly, highly unlikely to do it. There's a reason it's only been done once despite all the great dual threat QB's in cfb history.
I was there and it might have been the most impressive performance I have seen at Husky Stadium. The other one I have in mind was Maurice Jones Drew rushing for 322 yards and 5 TD's against us. It didn't surprise me one bit to see him become one of the best RB's in the NFL. He was a very underrated player in college.
