To be honest I think it says more an indictment of UW & Jimmy Lake, obviously he's not going to Howard but he is conscious and his family is conscious. But the black head coach taking over a winning program can't sell him on Seattle over Oregon. I'm serious what is UW's actual recruiting approach this cycle. The fact Cristobal dropped a BLM response before his watered down b.s. blew my mind as an African American. It was indicative of the whole cycle just one step behind on everything.

Yah, all this shit.

Highlights how much the school doesn't prioritize football.
I know y'all love to hear about Cristalball, but there's a reason these kids and families love him.
I was sitting next to the Oregon coaches and recruits at the last (ever?) men's basketball game. They had a something like 50 kids from 2022, 2023, and a few 2021 kids. David Justice was sitting a few seats away, didn't punch Halle Berry or anyone else. That I saw, at least.
Mario was floating around like a 270 pound hummingbird for almost the whole game. Moms would come up and hug him. One was crying, I'm assuming her kid got a scholarship offer. Dads would seek him out to get a handshake and a slap on the back. He didn't go to half court and make a speech. Just took a few minutes to run down to the press table for a quick TV interview. Then he was back and climbing over seats to have a quick chat with someone. Big energy. Springfield meth levels of energy.
Anyway, I have no idea what Jimmy is doing. A big part of recruiting is likability. People like Mario, he seems like a regular guy - which is a big accomplishment considering all P-5 head coaches are millionaire sociopaths.
USC 247 says that Foreman is a USC-Oregon battle. They're worried that once Jaylin Davies commits to Oregon then top-40 recruit and his best friend Raesjon Davis will flip from LSU to Oregon. Foreman is friends with both. NOC, but quooking for another off season natty.
The only good news about this is Oregon has to be filling up soon.
What a disaster of an offseason.
There are going to be de-commits, I'm sure. That JuCo DB from Mississippi has never even been to Oregon, and in the day after committing both Florida and Alabama offered. That's always been Cristobal's style. Get 30 commits a year because it's easier to keep them or build a class with placeholders. But yeah, Cristobal is going to clean up and it is nice not having much resistance from James Lake.
Even with decommits lake is still getting plungered. And I don’t want to hear any of that “but our guys are high 3 ⭐️’s and they should be 4” bull shit.
Any one preaching that fuckery can take that optimism to doogman.
This offseason has been the result of the perfect storm for us to get plungered in recruiting -Oregon just won the Rose Bowl, we went 8-5 -Pete quits -Lake is hired and fills his staff with D-list recruiters -We hire the worse OC possible on paper and Oregon hires the guy who replaced him and turned around the offense -Covid hits and we can't host recruits
The good news is signing day is in December and not August. This roster is the most stacked it's been since the 90s. If we can just get average QB play and an offense with a pulse, we should win 9 games at a minimum. While Covid has fucked us thus far, it could benefit us when the season starts and our toughest road games (Oregon, Utah, USC) are played in front of 10k fans. I'm not dooging but LIPO.
Still, Oregon is not so quietly assembling their best class ever. If they hold this together, and grab a couple more heavy hitters they are in the mix on, this is nearing PC USC level class stuff. We picked a great tim to shit all over ourselves.
"A moral action with an ulterior motive is not a moral action at all. A white coach using BLM to pander to black recruits is fucked up. While Cristobal is pandering to black recruits, Jimmy is having real discussions with his entire team behind closed doors about stuff that’s going on in our country including racism. Some black recruits are intrigued by the possiblity of playing for a black head coach, but I don’t think Jimmy is ever going to use that as a selling point because there are way more important things recruits should consider. Helping Jimmy become the first black head coach to win a national championship would just be icing on the cake.
Korey Foreman strikes me as the type of kid who simply wasn’t all that interested in UW to begin with because our uniforms and branding aren’t swaggy enough for him. You can call bullshit on this all you want but there are always going to be a few recruits out there who value that shit and our uniforms and branding still aren’t good enough to attract them. Plus Cristobal’s sleazy ass probably told him UW is racist against black D-lineman and favor Polys. Nevermind our two best D-lineman right now are black and both will be drafted in the top two rounds.
Is Korey Foreman the best of the best out West? No, I don’t think he is. He’s quickly growing into a DT and I think JTT is better than him and an argument can be made for Peihopa as well who has already proven he’s still explosive at 300+ pounds. As edge guys, I like Heims and Jefferson more than him because they’re faster and look longer on film.
But that’s not a IDWHA statement. It would still have been great to get him but we literally don’t have room to take every defensive lineman out West so we’re not gonna get them all. We’re still going to have the best D-line class by far though."
It looks like UW didn't have room for Foreman, and he wouldn't be a top 5 player in your class this year. You can't make this shit up
I like that the author makes assumptions that Jimmy is having deep discussions with recruits. Yeah, just more uw bullshit about how their coach is super awesome and everyone else is shit and uses racist tactics to get commitments. And bases it on absolutely nothing. Such a line of shit. But keep telling yourselves that. For a program that thinks they are so superior the list of excuses is long and are pretty pathetic.
Greenblood, you should have included where that came from.

Author made me fall off my chair laughing
The joke is I don't have to name who this is, because like Race said, the majority of the people here know who this is without me mentioning him.

Man, this. So much this. This should've been a really easy move for Jimmy, a fucking layup, but he just blew it. I honestly can't think of a single thing Jimmy's done well since taking over. He has been staggeringly incompetent. This is going to get really, really bad.

Jimmy is great at talking shit. Not sure about anything else.
Hes good at coaching DBs when hes not distracted by trying to play DC
The ignored part of that was he really wasn’t shit before Pete hired him at Boise State. Coached for Gilby and some horrible NFL teams. He did get NFL jobs at a very young age, but he really had very little success until coming with Pete to UW.
Some guys can manage the stock room some guys can be the CEO
A shitty assistant can be a great head man and vice versa
Most coaches suck. We'll see
There are a couple outliers but normally you need to be a good coordinator to be a good coach. It shows a plan and ability to organize when a coach’s side of the ball is excelling.
