In Austin River's case it's his half-black card and not that it matters but his girlfriend is white. The horror of growing up the half-black son of an NBA player and living in an upper class white neighborhood. I can't imagine the troubles a kid with a famous NBA player Dad would have in a school where NBA players are generally worshipped. I wouldn't be surprised if some small old white lady once asked him to get something off the top shelf at the grocery store. Nothing says systemic racism like that.
