Scoring 30+ against Oregon should be enough to win, even with stalled drives in the 4th. As you point out, playing Manu, even sparingly, cost us.

Itt comes down to playing the best players -always- except in a blowout. By not, it costs wins and it's hurting in recruiting right now "You might not play until you're an upperclassman. Nacua, Spiker, and Osborne were highly regarded but Washington played weaker upperclassmen. Same with their LBs"
Unless you're winning, opportunity for early playing time matters. Alot.
