Prime former Mickey Mouse Club members. Was subjected to these more time than I can count because my oldest was in the target demo at that point. Not afraid to bust out the Bye Bye Bye fist pump move at wedding receptions now either.

Day 20 - music snob

The Throbber is a man of the people. No snobbiness.
And I will fuck up anyone who hates on Garth and JT. FUCK THEM UP, I say.

Day 20: If I had a nickel for every time my love of pretentious French pop music got me laid in college, I’d have 15 cents.

Day 20: Snob day at the ballpark...
Paired with a cab that drinks like a merlot, stolen from the Eric Stratton playbook...
Also considered: Dave Brubeck, any Steely Dan song that is not Reelin’ in The Years or Do it Again...https://youtu.be/ylXk1LBvIqU

KOB is way too cliche to be music snob. Gotta go with something from the 2nd quartet. @DerekJohnson has no taste and hates this.https://youtube.com/watch?v=BiGf9nQsqe4

Duly noted, Yella...My disclaimer: growing up in E.WA, my closest exposure to jazz (pre-“University”) was my Pop’s Bob Wills records...late bloomer, still attempting to work through the “classics” on the jazz side...YellowSnow said:

Side note: Coming back from Italy last year, I listened to about six hours of Miles’ rehearsal tapes while Mrs. Fish was binge-watching reality shows...it was very intriguing.

Haven't heard this in ages, way better than it should be. Thanks.Laocoön said:Day 19 - Synth Pop
Uncle Al & Ministry weren’t always a heavy industrial strength metal band. They started out as a nice synth pop outfit.https://youtu.be/nam4UUTDPRw

Day 20: All of it. Is there any reason to listen to music other than snobbery? Pretty much all my previous entries work. Here's another one:

With Sympathy is an underrated album. It is full of catchy dance songs and I love how Al sings with a fake British accent throughout the entire album.GrundleStiltzkin said:

Niiice. Missed that. I think I have a copy of With Sympathy somewheres. Effigy is a good track too.Laocoön said:

Speaking of Uncle Al, is there some affiliation with Al, RevCo, Butthole, and Reverend Horton Heat?
Another Ministry aside, that Luke Perry (RIP) rodeo movie in early 90s had a badass TV ad with Burning Inside as the music. Of course, the movie was shiite and nothing at all like the TV spot. -

Oh yeah! Al cofounded RevCo with the 242 guys back in 1984, since they were label mates on Wax Trax & toured together that year. Gibby Haynes of the Surfers cowrote & shared vocals with Al on the single Jesus Built My Hot Rod. Finally, Al produced The Reverend's Liquor In The Front album. I love that title!! Al has had his hand in so many projects, I can't keep track of them all. You can hear his influence on Skinny Puppy's Rabies album. Not sure if he had any connection to Pigface??GrundleStiltzkin said:

You need to dig out With Sympathy and give it a listen. Revenge and I Wanted To Tell Her were other good trax, too.
I must have missed that TV ad for that rodeo movie. I'll have to Google it! -

The Rev had a cameo in Butthole’s “Pepper” video. Never researched myself whether it went beyond that. TYFYS.Laocoön said:

Delta Blues is my esoteric snobbery. Robert Johnson, the man who sold his soul to Satan to be great, Muddy Waters, Elmore James, and John Lee Hooker were great blues guitarists, but this guy’s style is so unique. It’s like he’s playing piano on the guitar with a bass line and a lead line at the same time. @YellowSnow this is advanced finger picking fren
