My guess is if you ask for your money back you will be punished by losing your seats. That's what I read.

"So this is very weird, because we already have a lot of our revenue in for the next year — with the gate revenue in football, the contributions attached to it,” Cohen explained. “So we have a very robust and comprehensive fundraising campaign that we plan to implement, recognizing that this is a hard time for so many people.

“For example, if we were in a scenario where we weren’t allowed to have all spectators, we would be looking to develop a campaign to ask people that have already made those seat-related contributions to allow us to keep them and those people who have made a season ticket purchase to stay with us and keep their seat. We’ve talked about printing pictures of people in their seats in the stands and all kinds of creative ways to try to keep that support going.”

Butt yeah @Cohen12 is going to take the short term approach here and destroy support long term.

Yeah, they're going to have to give that back if fans are kept out.

Seems a bit unreasonable (maybe even delusional) to think you are going to get to hold onto a meaningful part of that revenue if the season is canceled, or stadium capacity is cut dramatically

But if you stick with them you’ll get to keep your seat!

    Holy fuck.

    Bet this was Larry’s idea.

Can’t believe she actually said this out loud.

That they are seriously communicating a “best case“ scenario where they lose only 10-12% of the gate is laughable

I’m looking forward to Caple’s article in The Athletic in a quarter or so where Cohen describes in great detail her strategy for holding back her tears as she finally does furloughs and layoffs (“I mean, who could have foreseen the season would be canceled? No, I didn’t fire Bob Gregory - he has a FAMILY!”)
Too bad these dumb fucks have such a shitty tv deal. I on the other hand make more and charge more based on eye balls on screens. We’re going to make up all the lost revenue and then some.

These buttfuckers are going to love seeing q3&4 football rates.

Cohen’s comments about pictures of fans in the seats is so fucking stupid ... somebody better submit some citrus

If there is no season or fans are not allowed, options will almost assuredly be:

    1) Roll over your $$$ into next year’s seats
    2) Roll over as donation to the Athletic Department
    3) Provide a refund

I know that’s what TCU is saying at this point.

If Jen’s planning on punishing those who need the $$$ this year, its an insanely bad look. Particularly when you factor in the fact that she’s done next to nothing to mitigate short-term expenses like many other schools.

She is stupid. She got extremely lucky with Pete. A lot of other coaches would have not been okay with her becoming AD.

The interesting thing is the AD should have actually saved some money this Spring. No travel for baseball or softball would or should be more than what ticket sales for those events actually generate. Can't see track generating any revenue either.

Not having March Madness this year put every school in the red.

This. Reading about her crying about Pete and that Pete mentored her was the final straw for me.
Embarrassing. She’s so far in over her head. Of course she’ll never be let go

I wouldn't be surprised if softball is profitable.

Not having March Madness this year put every school in the red.

Especially a school like Washington, who was projected to be in the Final Four!

As to Cohen crying at Petersen leaving, I just don't give a shit. Results matter, the rest is theater. Although a manager crying at the loss of the face of the program plays out like a fart in church on a forum that's basically a big edgelord competition, to a lot of season ticketholders and donors it plays like she just bleeds purple and shits gold (basically, how Cohen has been marketed from day one). I wouldn't be shocked at all to learn that she never actually cried.

I think people give athletic directors too much credit and too much blame. Getting lucky with coaching hires is--by far--their primary contribution to winning. The last 11 months or so of Washington athletics has been one of the biggest sporting disasters of my lifetim, and I think everyone wants somebody to point the finger at. I don't know why Cohen should have been ready for it, though, when absolutely nobody else saw it coming. A year ago, she had a Mount Rushmore football coach who was going to retire here, the top football recruiting class in the conference, a big dick quarterback who was going to finally push the program over the NY6 hump, a basketball coach who won conference coach of the year his first two years, a Final Four team with two lottery picks©, crew progrum crushing it, softball progrum crushing it, baseball and soccer programs... I don't know, I vaguely recall reading good things.

Point is, I don't think she was personally responsible for the above, and I don't think she's personally responsible for it all going to shit. Almost all of it going to shit was completely out of her control. So I'm more, "Whatever. Lake and Hopkins: Do your fucking jobs."

I still can’t believe I said they were a final four team.
    That was the old Fudgie.

I was right about @FireCohen. Are your eyes open @YellowSnow? Fuck you @DerekJohnson for calling me weird for taking that handle. The moment she handed the keys to no ballz without a proper search put the rope around program's neck.
