A Q regarding death

MikeDamoneMikeDamone Member Posts: 37,781
How many people are you willing to let die from one cause in order to prevent others from dying from something else? Does it change your opinion if one group is mostly children in the third world and the other is mostly elderly white people who drank a 50 ounce soda daily for 60 years or ruined their lungs with cigarettes ?

I actually care about a lot of things I can't do anything about and am not responsible for and really doesn't affect me or my family. But I don't care that much. I didn't have anything to do with the Wuhan Flu and the socialist/theftocracies that run most of the planet. What does piss me off is that my son was laid off. Oh and 30 million other Americans. And Adolph Brown is the immediate cause. He actually got hired back to help the business re-open, but that is still speculative given Brown's indeterminate view about "testing" and total safety. Investor's need certainty. Their job is to make a business judgment about whether people want to come back, not whether and when they will be allowed to open and then capriciously closed again if the second wave shows up. If you get type II diabetes from gluttony or lung cancer from smoking, I care - but not much. At least smokers pay for their care through huge taxes and a shortened life span that stops medicare and Social Security payments.

I've been pretty clear. Do our best to keep the nursing homes out of the Wuhan Flu target zone. That has nothing to do with the rest of us. If you are 40 years old and undergoing chemo for cancer - then take care. If you are the counselor, hide under your bed and self-quarantine. If I want to go get a hair cut and endanger the young kids in Venezuela - then let me.

Merck announced a significant sale drop in one of its leading cancer drugs as cancer victims can't get into the hospital. Chock up some more Wuhan Flu deaths.

This has nothing to do with saving lives. You will notice that left leaning states will be the last to reopen if at all this year. This has all to do about getting as many people to live off the government’s dime as possible. If they get enough people relying on government assistance, the more job security they have. Nothing more, nothing less.

“Power is not a means, it is an end. One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship.”
    -OBrien, 1984

All of us on this board will be vaporized.

I fondly remember the days when quoting 1984 in this shit hole got you mocked and called an overreacting expletive.

Glad we can all just enjoy the book together now.
