They’re a couple of ER docs, you goddamned imbecile. They don’t get paid more for voluming out their clinic.HHusky said:

I doubt any businessman who wants to do more business hopes more of his customers get sick. The two doctors own the clinic. Their business is down. What part of free enterprise confuses you most?thechatch said:

Neither of those guys have anything to gain by more people getting sick. ER docs are salaried HCPs, who work shifts for their hospital employer and clock in/out. They aren’t private practice neuro surgeons working off of fee per service. They have negative incentive to see more ambos rolling in with flu patients. -

Once again. ER docs are just that. Emergency docs. If they own their own clinic, then they contract out on a fee per shift basis with local HCS. They do t get paid more if more sick people come through the doors. They don’t have a specialty clinic that people come to for electives. There is very little incentive for them to lie.HHusky said:

You don’t know how this works, so probably best to just shut your pie hole for a few minutes while the adults talk and maybe you’ll get desert and an extra 20min before bedtime. -

The doctors should never have assumed that the patients they tested — who came for walk-in COVID-19 tests or who sought urgent care for symptoms they experienced in the middle of a pandemic — are representative of the general population, said Dr. Carl Bergstrom, a University of Washington biologist who specializes in infectious disease modeling. He likened their extrapolations to “estimating the average height of Americans from the players on an NBA court.” And most credible studies of COVID-19 death rates in reality are far higher than the ones the doctors presented. -
