Watched the B1G network show on the 2014 Buckeye championship team

In 2012 they were unbeaten but on probation

In 2013 they were unbeaten but lost to Michigan State in title game. They too wanted that spot against Notre Dame

2014 they beat Bama and the ducks

    Urban Legend

That 2014 Buckeye team beats a lot of teams in the title game. They're up there with some really great teams. What a fuckign running game they had.
Had basically the same team the next year and didn’t win it all. Not an all time great team.

Cristobal has championship DNA. He's seen it done, with a few exceptions, everywhere he has been. He is the best test of whether an NC can be won in Eugene.

You guys best Wisconsin. He’s doing a good job, but no, he’s not the best test of whether a NC can be won. You were better with Chip and a lot closer back then.
GTFO. Sample size of 2 years?

Chip didn't recruit like Cristobal, and walked into a program that didn't need a rebuild. Kelley was a good coach, but come on.

Let's just say it's best Ohio State team I can remember and leave it at that.

Also, don't forget that we're all really mad at you right now because Coronavirus.

    Disagree.

Oregon saw their best chance already. They had a small window under Chip where they were schematically ahead of every team in the country. Had they not choked at home against Stanford, Oregon beats Notre Dame by 2-3 touchdowns in the Championship game to win the title.
    Good post.

I'll take the L here. The fact that Oregon played in 2 NC games is enough indication that a NC could/can be won in Eugene.

Chip and Oregon were playing football on a different planet than everyone else during a very narrow window and missed their best shot.

Let me move the goalposts. Cristobal is the test of whether or not truly elite talent can be recruited to Oregon and consequently win a NC.
Nailed it. I have never thought a team that is so geographically disadvantaged as Oregon could win titles by sheer talent. Hoping Mario can prove me wrong.
