    I never really fell in love with an artist or band, I like songs and performances.

    I Googled to look at artists outside of your list and don't feel skrongly about any, there or here.

    Music shit polling is in often an exercise in damned if you do, damned if you don’t. Stick to GOATs and it’s boring. Go too niche and it’s the cool kids trying to show off how special their taste is.

    In this list it’s Dylan vs Elvis. I probably listen to Dylan or Neil Young more than Elvis. But he’s really second only to the Beatles in terms of changing the course of popular music.

    81% 90% of Neil's body of work was outside of Buffalo Springfield and CSNY. I don't know where this narrative is coming from that he was in "groups" more than he was a "solo" act.

    Yellow Brick Road is a masterpiece, but I love me some Billy Joel. And not certain if they count, but Carly Simon, Neil Diamond, and James Taylor are some other faves. Oh and Kelly Clarkson.     I get what you're saying. I'm fine with categorizing him that way. I just think the lines are blurry and an argument can be made either way. He's bounced between different projects, genres and backing outfits so many times and for so long. He kind of defies clean categorization.
