Those are worthy comps for the greatness of the songs, but I think of them more as rip offs than covers (with all die respect). Maybe that's not fair.BearsWiin said:

Won’t get a lot of votes here but their live version is better than the album version, which in turn is better than Seger’s -

Doesn't deserve its own thread but a conversation with Harv got around to Tone Loc sampling Jamie's Cryin. I had forgotten how awesome it was. Jamie's Cryin is one of my favorite songs and the fav VH song for me. The beat and the riff are gold.

On Joe Rogan's pod Dave was talking about the Latin beat influence to the opening drum riff. Said they had a lot of Latino influence as a LA band. Makes sense.RaceBannon said:Doesn't deserve its own thread but a conversation with Harv got around to Tone Loc sampling Jamie's Cryin. I had forgotten how awesome it was. Original Song by Jake Holmes > Yardbirds Version > Led Zeppelin.
Also Led Zeppelin's Dazed and Confused guitar solo (one of the best of all time in my opinion) was originally, almost note for note, in a Yardbirds song "Think About It".
Jimmy Page didn't waste anything he thought was good. -
I like Joe, but wasn't everything he did a cover?huskyhooligan said:Came to say All Along The Watchtower, which was previously pointed out, and mostly for my eternal love for Winnie Cooper:
