So why did Burisma hire Hunter Biden?

I would hope very low. Did the company know that before hand? Don't know. Would it have mattered. Don't know that either. I mean, there are crack heads, like the ones I walk over and around in Seattle every day, and there are rich boys who do shit in private. One of the beauties of having wealth, earned or otherwise, is that you can be a complete degenerate addict and still clean up and look pretty because the $$ doesn't run out which means you still have a roof over your head, food in your belly and a shower. And access to rehab.SFGbob said:

For political influence. I mean, if Biden Jr. had been a captain of [other] industry or otherwise important, then sure, public companies appoint people like that all the time. For sure, he didn't have to be an expert or PhD in whatever energy or mining or whatever it is that company does. Boards have directors from academia who've never worked in real life outside of the academy. I've dealt with them. The ENRON board had a guy from Yale who testified that he didn't know the business and just flew into Houston on a company plane for a nice lunch and dinner and some board comaraderie and listened to a bunch of shit he didn't understand and left. There's less of that now (precisely because of ENRON), but still ....SFGbob said:O'Keefed screwed up his courage enough to lightly rap Hunter on the knuckles and concede that he was trading on his dad's name. But why would Burisma hire him in the first place? What were they getting out of the deal? We know what Hunter was getting, but what benefit was Burisma getting from hiring Hunter?
And spare me the GDS cock suck that they were getting a highly qualified lawyer who was well qualified to overlook high level contracts and business negotiations.
With that said, Biden Jr.'s only real quals were his government connections. But even that isn't in and of itself that outlandish. Usually it's the person themselves who have the connection, ie, Biden Sr. In this case, it's the son.
So, in any context in which there is suspicion of monkey business between the company, a government and the US government, sure, it's ripe for questioning. But it's also fair to say, you don't need to be a specifically-impressive person to get on a board. There are a lot of board members out there who can't find their asses w/o someone helping them.
So while not exactly a frequent occurrence, I'm sure there are directors on PC boards who have skeletons in their closets. Having means ... means you can hid your shit much more effectively than an average person.
I'm not trying to argue this point. I have little to no doubt that access to the Veep was the reason he was appointed. What came of that it another matter. Being the son of either wealthy or otherwise powerful people has its perks. We knew that already.
My only point is that it's not shocking that a guy like Biden would be appointed to a board of directors even though he's not a super star anything. But of course it's open for scrutiny. It's just that the scrutiny doesn't begin and end with his lack of experience in the relevant industry or other lack of business qualifications. -
It was common knowledge that Hunter was kicked out of the military for coke use. It was also common knowledge that was a Biden is bought he stays bought.

How many boards did Bush Jr serve on? I'm sure he didn't trade on his dad's name at all.SFGbob said:

Took less than a 1000 posts here before it became common knowledge you're an idiot.WestlinnDuck said:It was common knowledge that Hunter was kicked out of the military for coke use. It was also common knowledge that was a Biden is bought he stays bought.
Holy shit!!!! Hunter Biden did coke?! Joe Biden should go to jail for treason! -
Big difference between doing coke and being a cokehead. Things you should know, but leftards thrive on intentional ignorance.

Bush doing coke is ok. Hunter doing coke, we must impeach Biden. LolWestlinnDuck said:Big difference between doing coke and being a cokehead. Things you should know, but leftards thrive on intentional ignorance.

Bush stopped doing coke. Cokeheads like Hunter don't. Bush impregnate any strippers and lie about it? One is not like the other. A weak lame ass moral equivalency argument.
-
Now. Right now. Is where you care about someone lying? A stripper is not ok to lie about. But a porn star.... Can lie about that and pay her off. And lie about that too.WestlinnDuck said:Bush stopped doing coke. Cokeheads like Hunter don't. Bush impregnate any strippers and lie about it? One is not like the other. El oh fucking El.. can't wait to see what you come up to justify that. -
