Newman is pretty good. Gotta get him or Costello with Costello being #1. The guys we have aren’t ready or aren’t good enough to win the PAC 12.

I’m not talking about beating a Clemson and Bama. I’m saying we will got 8-4 if we don’t get a free agent QB.

God that would be fucking sick. He got a lot of first round draft buzz before the wheels fell of at VT. Made a good decision to go back to school but he's pretty fucking good.GrundleStiltzkin said:Missed this earlier

In 2019, there was an absence of leadership on the offensive coaching staff with Hamdan being green, Petersen burnt out, and no Tedford-like control coach to mentor the OC. Given that the senior coaches on this staff are all on the defensive side and that Jimmy's never coached offense, the OC is what will define Jimmy's first year as HC.
Fortunately, I have no doubt that Jimmy understands this and will find someone that matches his aggressive style.

Jimmy waking up and checking Twitter this morning to see the fanbase reaction to the hire:

An actual improvement. Thank god.GrundleStiltzkin said: -
Yep, let somebody do it where that is their only job. Not someone who is trying to coach, recruit, and hit on player's sistersNorwegianHusky said:

And, like Petersen in 2006, Lake has made some nontraditional hires. The flashy pick for offensive coordinator would have been Joe Moorhead or Mark Helfrich or Todd Monken or Chip Long, not Jacksonville Jaguars assistant running-backs coach John Donovan. The flashy pick for defensive-backs coach would have been Cal’s Gerald Alexander, not Vanderbilt’s Terrence Brown. The flashy pick for tight-ends coach would have been former UW quarterback and current Cal tight-ends coach Marques Tuiasosopo, not Husky offensive analyst Derham Cato.
On paper, these were risky hires. They might also be the right ones.
The common denominator, it seems, is that Lake hired people with plenty left to prove.

I prefer people who have already shown they're good at their jobs rather than those with "plenty left to prove" but that's just meDoogCourics said:

If I wanted that kinda negativity I’d go to BDTWSources said:
