Construction driven economies are temporary and rarely end well. Bend, Oregon was once extremely cool, until it quadrupled in size and filled up with Californians, and now it fucking sucks, with five o'clock traffic as bad as I-405 in Bellevue and a bunch of fucking hillbillies who think they're the shit wearing cheap, Chinese-made Columbia outerwear from the local outlet mall, and clogging the roads with their Poor-Man's Lexus, aka Kias & Hyundais. Fuck. That. Shit.
Do you live in or near Bend now? Just curious because i love the region and have been thinking about retiring near there in 10-15 years.are the outskirts of Bend fucked up as well? In the end the property taxes will probably steer me away though.

STFU Faggot. At least they're employed.
It’s a pretty lazy narrative to say that anti-Trump rallies are filled with unemployed liberals who leach off the welfare state and that pro-Trump rallies don’t have similar folks but that are opposed politically.

It’s also lazy to say pro-Trump rallies are filled with racist, xenophobic old white people. Both rallies are usually identified by showing the extremists on both sides, sadly.

STFU Faggot. Educated doesn't mean smart or successful, you Kool-Aid drinking moron. Celebrate your socialism with your faggy statist authoritarians to your heart's content. Then Die.

But pay for it yourself, leech.
Thanks for proving my point. How'd that GED work out for you?

No, had family and a vaca home there for 15 years. It's always been, and still is, a good place to retire. It's just full of shitty little mall rat types of kids and their horrible conceited parents (baseball dads & soccer moms) these days, clogging up the roads, shops, trails, and lift lines at Mt. Bachelor. Yes, I'm biased because I first started going there when the population was about 30k and today its a busy, crowded place that no longer feels like a relaxing place to chill. Living on the outskirts or in Redmond might be a better option if you want to avoid crowds and traffic every day.
