Underachievers R Us

If Oregon hadn't changed D coordinators, they'd be at the top and playing in the Sun Bowl.

Yeah but we had a head coach that didn’t care and a head coach in waiting. That’s expensive.

We are in the bottom half if you adjust for cost of living.
Houses on Lake Washington and Commuter boats are expensive. -

I’m hearing that some poasters here are both anti-boat and anti-fancy coffee. Don’t twist, it’s just what I’m hearing.DerekJohnson said:

But Oregon was LOADED!!!!DoogCourics said:Continuing the underachievers theme you so graciously started:

@BroadcastingDawg -
Talent wasn't the issue this year. Terrible in game coaching was. Sure there were certain holes at specific positions, the problem was sticking with terrible players all year and not giving a lot of the younger talent recruited the past couple years a shot because reasons. This is why I have high hopes for Lake, the recruiting should continue in a strong direction while the best players, regardless of age and seniority will play. No more full seasons of Bacellia/Fullers or Manu/Wellingtons.

If you go back to our teen stocker board the teen stockers pointed out that Oregon was still out recruiting UW even as UW "leveled up" allegedlycreepycoug said:

Whether that is loaded or not, many folks picked Oregon to win the Pac this year. Simple fact. It wasn't some great under duck story of the little team that overcame the odds to win the mighty Pac 12
I think UW should have won the last two games but the fact is they didn't. More coaching than talent IMO but still a loss. Times two
USC has more talent than anyone looking at next year. The north favorite will be Oregon -
Winning >>>>>>>>> Losing

I love it. Pete’s legacy was build on making more with less, but his last year he decided to do make less with more

Coaching was an issue, but each of those 5 losses are winnable with solid lb play
Cal-192 rushing, 2 tds, 1 point game
Stanford 189/1, 10 point game
Oregon 154/1, 4 point game
Utah 115/2, 5 points
Colorado 206/1, 6 points
A part of that was inability to set the edge, but with even decent lb play you probably take 4 of those, unfair to blame the team for underachieving when one position group was so much worse than the others
I'm sure Petersen would have coached his way out of a couple anyways, but the point remains -
Stanford was just a weird game we were destined to lose because we're a bunch of limp catamites. I'd legitimately argue every other L fell on extremely terrible in-game coaching decisions, including personnel choices and lineups. Just a ghastly level of failure in a season where it was imperative we level up on the field and begin harvesting the '20-'21 in-state recruiting classes.

I would almost put Colorado in the same tier as Stanford. We got beat pretty much the entire game.Gladstone said:Stanford was just a weird game we were destined to lose because we're a bunch of limp catamites. For a short while, we played pretty well against Cal. We played our best, or at least close to it, in both the first halves vs Oregon and Utah. Shit the bed in both those games in the 2nd half, but we didn’t look like a less talented team in either. -
You guys lost to Colorado?
Did not know that -
I read that too and thought "did we really? Ido t remember that." Jeezus what a shitty coaching job that wasPitchfork51 said:You guys lost to Colorado?
