I love it. Pete’s legacy was build on making more with less, but his last year he decided to do make less with more

Coaching was an issue, but each of those 5 losses are winnable with solid lb play

    Cal-192 rushing, 2 tds, 1 point game
    Stanford 189/1, 10 point game
    Oregon 154/1, 4 point game
    Utah 115/2, 5 points
    Colorado 206/1, 6 points

A part of that was inability to set the edge, but with even decent lb play you probably take 4 of those, unfair to blame the team for underachieving when one position group was so much worse than the others

I'm sure Petersen would have coached his way out of a couple anyways, but the point remains

Stanford was just a weird game we were destined to lose because we're a bunch of limp catamites. I'd legitimately argue every other L fell on extremely terrible in-game coaching decisions, including personnel choices and lineups. Just a ghastly level of failure in a season where it was imperative we level up on the field and begin harvesting the '20-'21 in-state recruiting classes.

I would almost put Colorado in the same tier as Stanford. We got beat pretty much the entire game.

For a short while, we played pretty well against Cal. We played our best, or at least close to it, in both the first halves vs Oregon and Utah. Shit the bed in both those games in the 2nd half, but we didn’t look like a less talented team in either.
