UCLA played a very tough non conference schedule every year. Most Pac 10 teams did but UCLA was playing Nebraska and stuff. They would start slow and hit their stride in league play. The "could he win a title at LSU" is an interesting test. The fact that he came so close to getting there makes me want to argue that he could. He is to many degrees Pete at Boise, but Pete already had a decent program when he took over, while Snyder built KSU from utterly nothing. And he wasn't a full OKG guy, he took tons of players from the JUCO ranks and turned them into amazing college players. His recruiting was in many ways what we wanted for Pete's program, taking non-OKGs and turning them into OKGs. -
K State was the worst program in America for decades. No exaggeration.
Take Rutgers or Kansas today and think of them being that bad forever. That was K State -
