I don't think it's a quook conversion. I think he feels more free to be truthful because KJR is no longer the flagship station. (I say this as someone who hasn't listened to the Honks in many moons).FirePete said:

Millen knows his shit obviously but can be a bit technical and suck the fun out of it. I like Brock Huard. The only people on the radio who will regularly talk UW football is the Honks Show. I think Softy is a caricature of himself at this point, but at least he has some passion for the program. None of the other local shows could give two shits about the team. So, you take the good with the bad if you want any UW hawt talk. Otherwise, turn it off.

I like what Millen brings fully. I wish Baird wouldn't cut him off. Perhaps Baird cutting Hugh off before he gets going too much keeps Hugh in good enough stead with the program to keep getting all-22 copy, though, so maybe there's that. Football's awesome because it's complex; I don't want it dumbed down for me. If there's a fuck up on the field or in the booth, I want it described to me in the same way it's going to be described to the fuck-up-er in the film room or coach's meeting, not sugarcoated.
