I posted that definition because OBK said Google it. It was the first thing that popped up when I Googled it. The effort to rebrand Fascism as a product of the left is fucking retarded. It also doesn't really belong to the right either. It was its own thing.

I'm not a fan of the idea that Socialsm and Fascism are the two extremes of the left vs right political spectrum. There is too much overlap for them to be diametrically opposed. Same goes for the economics of Fascism vs Socialism which is what the Sowell quote is getting at.

Your ultranationalism argument is weak. The left is generally accused of hating America and it's ideals. You can't be an ultranationalist and an American apologist at the same time. You'll have a point when the left starts flying American flags off the back of their trucks while bumping country music Americana propaganda.

If the left wants a Socialst style planned economy than that is also not consistent with Fascism. The Fascist economy still had a role for private Enterprise and individual property rights.

The far left has more in common with Lennin and Stalin style Socialsim/Marxism than it does with Fascism.

The far left has blended Marxism with fascism.

Most South American countries don't have free markets for the USA, same with Europe. Marry that lack of free market to the fact that we have a trade deficit due to that lack of free market and slave labor practices and you can see why a correction is needed.
