He had a run against I think hawaii, 3rd and 2 or something, same thing, danced, then didn't get the first. I wonder if he needs to get his eyes checked like Kearse because that last one, how he isn't seeing the gaping hole to the right is amazing.

There is a world where nearly every one of those Ahmed runs were touchdowns. Pretty bad vision. He really should never be in on key short yardage plays either.
-
Was expecting Ahmed stuffing some AU coed

Jeepers, bounced out & back in. Could have outran the dude to endzone.Houhusky said: -
Ya I remember this one. Maybe he is color blind and can't see green?GrundleStiltzkin said:

I can't believe @dnc got in a twatter spat with some idiots who actually claimed Ahmed has good vision. He just does not have a feel for his blockers. McGrew needs to be our workhorse until Dick comes back.

Its Browning Syndrome...Out thinking himself...In this case the young man has talent though, not just try hard...

Worst Thing that happened to him was when he stopped his feet and still busted that 89 yard touchdown against USC. Now he thinks he can do it every time

Ahmed gets lit up like a tackling dummy every time he stops his fit before the LB gets there. It's actually hysterical.
He needs to watch Lavon Coleman 2016 film -
At least he is still pushing after contact and falling forward. Last year he loses yards on most those plays. This year he gained a few extra.

He literally needs eyeball replacement surgery. He had huge holes on at least three of those runs.
Salvon can not run forward and make a decision at the same time.

When Ahmed plays poorly he looks really, really awful. IMO his vision isn't worse than Newton's, maybe better, but Newton's decisiveness and strength make him a much more consistent back. (McGrew clearly has the best vision).
I still like Ahmed, but in the games where he doesn't have it, he really hurts you. I don't understand how he can be so inconsistent, some games he's clearly our best back, some days he doesn't even belong on the field. -
Chico did stuttering convulsion bullshit on that jet sweep at the start of the third. One move and cut in or bounce it. I think he could of bounced it for more yardage on the play I'm talking about but he was wasting his time being a shake weight.

The O line is still massively over rated
What holes? -

Ahmed is trying to be patient, find holes and wait for holes to open. That's what playing for Juanita vs O'Dea did to him.
He is improving at locating holes, but is not yet dynamic enough to see them opening up and blast through before the defense has already squeezed down on him.
What he isn't doing very well is identifying creases or the pursuit, and he's missing BIG cutback opportunities to change direction and go against the grain for big yards. Watching his tape, you see him pressing and forcing himself to wedge between his blockers on plays where he'd be better off going outside or reversing direction. If he can improve on that stuff at all, his runs will flow a lot better with the offense and his current 2 or 3 yard efforts will become 6 or 7. The OL also plays a big part in this, and could do a better job of identifying soft spots or mismatches Ahmed could exploit.
Bottom line is that the kid's a tremendous athlete, but not yet a great, all-around RB. But he could become one, because he continues to improve. -
But I heard he’s better than Gaskin
-
I do think that’s part of it. He makes the wrong decision a lot. He doesn’t have a feel in traffic. Every now and then he looks really good. The Apple Cup last year and USC come into mind. It’s not consistent. In space, he’s pretty good although he’s not really elusive at all. He’s just fast.DawgWagonDan said:Its Browning Syndrome...Out thinking himself...In this case the young man has talent though, not just try hard...
Ahmed is a Dwayne Washington or Louis Rankin. He’s better than Dwayne Washington, but there are similarities. His stats are good, he’s fast and can break them which makes him valuable, but you can’t count on him to consistently get yards.
I’m not going to crown McGrew yet. We need both guys. Whoever is hot needs to get the bulk of the carries. -

It would be irritating if it mattered. The game was over by that point.DoogCourics said: -
I say we give Ahmed a pass on this one. He was probably thrown off when fuller didn't whiff his block.DoogCourics said: -
