But I always bought from reputable sellers, never the bath salts from the head shop. Methylone was pretty legit, I never had the balls to try Meow Meow, but John McAfee was willing to commit his life to it, so I feel like I missed out.
But my pathologist friend says the synthetic THCs are pretty spooky. So maybe your crotchety take has some credence. -

I worry about my younger brother who is 10 years younger. He's smart and seemingly well-adjusted, but I've heard the way his shithead friends speak and they've been hammered hard by the depths of YouTube culture and meme pages.
The scary part is that when I was growing up, I knew to keep my internet life on the internet. You talk about that in real life you're a fuckin weirdo. It's so commonplace now that's ALL they talk about. Strange times.
I didn’t become a serious message bored poster till my late 30s. HH is a big part of my life but feel I could go cold turkey if I had too.
