I'm about 2/3 into the first episode of the series. So far, it's pretty solid. Lots of good biographical stuff on the Jimmie Rogers and the Carter Family...stuff I definitely wasn't aware of previously. Never knew that the elites of Nashville didn't want anything to do with cuntry music originally. They thought they were supposed to be the "Athens" of the South and sophisticated.
No too much rayciscm hawt talk to trigger you guys. Just a lot of poor white and black people trying to make music. -

As was the case with Jazz, they seem heavily focused on the early stuff. Half way through and they are just getting to Hank Sr. But I have learned a ton a history about the bios of Jimmie Rodgers, Carter Family, Roy Acuff, Bob Wills, the Opry, etc. Endlessly fascinating. I knew Dolly was the original pre Doc. I like hers the best, but more so because it's less cliche that Whitney. -
