    Shit really starts to get interesting in country music when your get to Memphis in the early 50's. It's remarkable to consider that @dnc might be the most important city in the history of American popular music.

    Agree. His best work since Civil War, although I thought Vietnam was really well done. But ol Ken seems to do well with the Souf.

    I knew Dolly was the original pre Doc. I like hers the best, but more so because it's less cliche that Whitney.

    The way he covered the Nashville Sound versus the Outlaw sound was great. The 70's were a great mix of country, folk, and country rock

    TBH I miss the old studio and album days. I know everyone can drop a song now and its completely democratic but we lose our shared experience

    I had a buddy in high school and his dad would have Porter Waggoner on the tv Saturday nights while we were all there getting ready to go get in trouble

    Dolly would come on and we would all just stare. High school boys and that rack
