FS Petersen does the opposite. He doesn't prioritize getting the best athletes the ball. Hell, sometimes they don't get on the field since his process takes too long to neuter them. Second, instead of designing offensive schemes that are difficult to defend, he designs them too complicated to execute efficiently.
It's hard. A lot harder than it needs to be. -

The end of the EWU game was very telling. Spiker and Osborne finally saw the field, but they were not thrown to at all. They were basically out there, running vapid routes, as Sirmon just handed the ball off the kill the clock.
It was disappointing to not see the young receivers out there in the 3rd and 4th quarters actually catching some passes, Puka included. -

He was probably always the best athlete—big, fast, strong, run, jump, throw, etc.—on any field. But he wasn't the best player, that is, the ability to put all the athletic attributes together to achieve a football result. Bacchanial by all accounts is a very good athlete. Not a very good football player. There's probably more examples of great players without being great athletes in high school ball than college. Whatever. I hope you didn't read this. -
This is high school freshmen football shit. Put the best player at QB and the second best player at running back. They touch the ball 95% of the time.
BTW, is there any human with a bigger nose than Gerry DiNardo?
