He actually checked down quite a bit which made me think about the criticisms we heard coming out of camp that he was doing that too much.
Still, 1 read and a quick check down is a massive improvement over our previous faggotry. -

A quarterback who made a strong case why he belongs in the first-round discussion was Washington redshirt junior QB Jacob Eason (6-5, 230). After missing most of the 2017 season at Georgia due to injury (and Jake Fromm taking over the Bulldogs’ starting job), the former five-star recruit transferred to Washington, sitting out the 2018 season. Having not thrown a meaningful pass in almost two years, there was plenty of hype surrounding Eason and he didn’t disappoint in the opener versus Eastern Washington. He finished 27 for 36 (75.0 percent) for 349 yards and four touchdowns, completing a pass to eight different receivers. It’s important to remember the competition level in this game, but nonetheless, it was a great opening performance as he looks to prove to scouts why he is a first-round quality passer. -

This is actually something I really appreciate. He doesn't allow Pete's offense to freeze him. The perfect is the enemy of the good. Eason understands that he is there to make plays, and if going through all of his progressions is taking too long, or plays haven't developed, he just does something and moves on.
