Ehhh put in on tape so you can sneak HB or the slot wide open down the seam

I got the impression that they were trying to put as much shit on film for Cal to worry about as possible.

It’s kind of dumb. Coaches like to think bubble screens and jet screens make the defense defend the whole field. Really, it makes it easy on them and they don’t have to be as physical at the LOS where you can actually wear guys down. DB’s and LB’s aren’t going to get tired very easily.

There is a time and place for it but I always prefer screens out of the backfield to make the defense think twice about blitzing on the edge.

Eason is like the only QB where I don't actively hate this type of playcalling, only because the ball gets there so damn fast. It's a huge difference. Good for an additional 2-4 yards a pop compared vs Browning. Ditto checkdowns. 3 yard noodle balls become 6 yard 1st down gains.

Using bubble screens to set up having one of your guys who usually blocks on those slip upfield>>>>>>>RoadDawg55 said:It’s kind of dumb. Nick foles had a cannon of an arm and they did the wr screens when he was at zona. It's great when you have a qb with a big arm. Bigger problem is our wr's are small and crappy blockers.
Tunnel screen Chico has worked plenty of times throughout his career. It's almost like the timing of when you call the play matters. -
He’d have just run three plays over and over again if he’d really wanted to fuck with Kal.jecornel said:

our jet sweep layout seems weird to me. I watch other teams and they have so many more blockers coming through early to create a lane on the outside but ours is like we just think our guy will outrun everyone and doesn't get our linemen or TEs far enough outside. frustrating.

I like the "downhill" running game not the "look retarded 7 yards behind the LOS" running game
