Ahmed looks like he is getting lit up on every tackle. Truly strange. Never seen another RB as big as him get brought down so easily, usually while getting borderline de-cleated

Speed means jack when you lack vision. I only need my running back to run 5-10 yards on most plays. Give me the dude who can find the hole any day. Coleman and Gaskin had that, Ahmed does not.
Similar things can be said about our undersized receivers that recruiting nerds hate. Give me a guy who can catch the fucking ball and run routes over the big fast dude with a case of the dropsies. Of course both is preferred and Belichick agrees. -

Keep Ahmed where he can thrive. Change of pace back for screens and using him as a hybrid wr/back who comes in for the jet sweeps/reverses. He has an incredible ability to beat guys to the edge. Anything between the tackles, woof

I feel like Ahmed has gotten worse since we've been coaching him. He used to run straight at the hole and just plow with his speed, but then it seems as if our coaches tried to mold him into a *patient* runner like Gaskin was, and the more *patient* they've tried to make him... the worse he has become.NorwegianHusky said:Ahmed stops his feet too much. Ahmed is Louis Rankin or a slightly better Dwayne Washington. Home run or nothing type. He’s still good and valuable. He’ll have some big games.
We do need a consistent RB that can churn out yards without huge holes. Newton looks to be the guy. He’s decisive and runs with power. No need to harp on his speed. He’s plenty fast for his size. -

I’ve never had much confidence that Ahmed has what it takes to be an every down back, and yesterday did nothing to alleviate my skepticism. I think it’s pretty clear that Dick Newt(ILTCHDN, IWILTD) is going to be our 1st/2nd down and short yardage back. The coaches had him as the wildcat guy on a 4th down right from the start. That pretty much says it all. Ahmed is too explosive to keep off the field, so the coaches need to get creative. I’d rather see him split out than most of our shitty jag receivers, I know that much.
